Magnetar Mobile help

Magnetar Mobile Help

Setup and workflow help for Android Share, auto-scan, Add, Review, Magnetar Sync, Send to mobile, Organised folders, TorBox Airlock and common fixes.

Start here

First setup

  1. Open Settings and use the Client setup area near the top.
  2. Choose the provider or client you already use and tap Configure.
  3. Enter the API key, server URL or login details required by that destination.
  4. Run Test connection and wait for the inline result in that section.
  5. Share a URL, magnet or hash into Magnetar Mobile when a destination is verified.

Magnetar Sync

Pair Magnetar Mobile with the extension

Magnetar Sync keeps saved items, sent history, Review items and organised folders in step between the extension and Magnetar Mobile. It also syncs folder names, colours and contents.

  1. Open Magnetar extension.
  2. Click Sync mobile.
  3. Create/show pairing QR.
  4. Open Magnetar Mobile.
  5. Go to Settings > Sync.
  6. Scan the QR code.
  7. Confirm paired state.
  8. Use Pull sync / Push sync if needed.
  • Provider API keys and client passwords stay local.
  • Synced Magnetar data is encrypted before it reaches the server.
  • Provider files are not uploaded to Magnetar Sync.
  • Provider files and folders are never moved, renamed or changed by Sync.

Setup

Choosing and testing a client

First run has no fake or default provider. Magnetar Mobile needs a configured and successfully tested destination before it can send or browse.

TorBox, Real-Debrid, AllDebrid and Premiumize

Add the API credential from your own provider account, then run Test connection. Passed providers can be used for supported send, browse and playback actions. TorBox users can also send NZB URLs to TorBox from Add.

qBittorrent

Connect to qBittorrent Web UI on your own machine or server. The Web UI must be reachable from the Android device.

RDT Client

Configure the RDT Client server, username and password, then choose a backing provider and enter that provider API key.

Local Client

Use an installed Android magnet handler. Local Client can hand off magnets, but it does not provide library browsing, playback or downloads inside Magnetar.

Setup can be reopened with Show welcome. Clear cache is safe for normal cleanup: it clears temporary client lists, provider responses, thumbnails, scan state and cached media, while keeping credentials, Saved, History and settings.

Share flow

How to use Android Share

  1. Open a page, magnet link, hash or source URL.
  2. Share it to Magnetar Mobile.
  3. If it is a shared URL, Magnetar Mobile auto-scans it by default.
  4. If it is a direct magnet or hash, Magnetar Mobile parses it immediately.
  5. Review found items, then send, save, rename, inspect or send them to Review.

Send to mobile

Use the mobile Review queue

Send to mobile sends an item from the extension to Magnetar Mobile. Batch Send to mobile can send multiple detected items.

Items arrive in Review so you can check them before saving, sending or browsing. This requires Magnetar Sync pairing.

Send to mobile is for moving Magnetar finds from desktop to phone without losing context.

Detection

Auto-scan and Scan or Rescan

Shared URLs auto-scan for magnets and hashes when the setting is on. The button remains Scan before a page is checked and changes to Rescan after results, an empty scan or a failed scan. Auto-scan never auto-sends.

Add clears after a real successful send. It also clears and collapses after a successful Send to Review, and handled Android share payloads are consumed so old links do not immediately scan again.

Navigation

Add, Review, Saved, History and Client

Add

Receives shared URLs, magnets and hashes. Share Centre shows where new items are sent, while Provider Overview shows status and library information for the selected provider or client. TorBox users can paste NZB URLs and send them to TorBox.

Review

Holds items before sending. Items sent from the extension with Send to mobile arrive here after Sync pairing. You can check them before saving, sending or browsing.

Saved

Stores items for later with readable names preserved. Saved items can be selected, sent, copied, pinned, reordered or removed.

History

Shows successful sends with readable titles and the provider or client target used. Successful TorBox NZB sends appear with an NZB tag.

Client

Browses the configured provider or client library in Provider view, or lets you organise items in Magnetar folders without changing provider-side files or folders.

Send

Why Send can be disabled

Send is disabled when there is no verified destination. The app may show No verified client, No configured client or Needs test depending on whether setup is missing, incomplete or changed since the last successful test.

Magnetar Mobile sends only to the configured destination you choose. No provider accounts are included, and nothing is sent to an ArrCee account or telemetry service.

RDT Client

RDT Client setup

RDT Client is a compound setup in Magnetar Mobile. Configure the RDT Client server, username and password, then choose a backing provider such as TorBox, Real-Debrid, AllDebrid or Premiumize and enter that backing provider API key.

A label such as RDT Client · TorBox means the active client is RDT Client, with TorBox behind it. The Client tab should browse through the RDT Client API, not direct TorBox.

TorBox

Sending NZB URLs to TorBox

  • For TorBox users with their own TorBox account.
  • Sends NZB URLs to TorBox.
  • Not a general Usenet or NZB downloader built into Magnetar Mobile.
  1. Configure and test TorBox in Client setup.
  2. Open Add.
  3. Enable TorBox NZB.
  4. Paste an NZB URL.
  5. Send it to TorBox.
  6. Check History for the successful send with an NZB tag.

TorBox

TorBox Airlock

Airlock is a TorBox feature. Magnetar can show and toggle Airlock for supported TorBox items in provider lists and supported organised folder items.

Airlock state comes from TorBox. If you Airlock in the extension, the app can see it after refreshing TorBox. If you Airlock in the app, the extension can see it after refreshing TorBox.

This does not use Magnetar Sync as the authority. It uses your local TorBox API key, with no TorBox website cookies or session scraping.

Library

Provider view, Refresh and large libraries

  • Provider view shows the selected provider or client library.
  • Refresh reloads the selected provider.
  • Large libraries are loaded in pages for faster browsing.
  • Search and filters work across the loaded library.
  • TorBox and Real-Debrid can load beyond 100 library items.
  • Expand folders to load files when supported.

Client views

Provider vs Organised

Provider

  • Shows the library from your connected service.
  • Content appears as the service returns it.
  • Refresh updates the latest provider list.

Organised

  • Magnetar folders, not provider folders.
  • Create folders and group provider items inside Magnetar.
  • Add items from Provider view.
  • Removing items here does not delete provider files.
  • Folder names and colours sync through Magnetar Sync.

Organised folders help you group items inside Magnetar. They do not change your provider library. Provider files and folders stay exactly where they are.

Folders

Add an item to an Organised folder

  1. Open Client.
  2. Choose Provider view.
  3. Use the folder or add-to-folder button on an item.
  4. Choose Watch Later, Audiobooks, Other or create a new folder.
  5. Open Organised view to see your folders.
  • Organised folders are Magnetar folders.
  • Removing an item from a folder does not delete provider content.
  • Deleting a folder does not delete provider content.
  • To open provider items inside a folder, that provider must be configured on this device.

Colour language

What does green mean?

Soft green marks Magnetar Sync, mobile and organised-folder actions. Provider send actions stay separate.

Fixes

Troubleshooting

No verified client

Open Settings, use Client setup near the top, configure a provider or client, then run Test connection. Sending and browsing stay locked until a destination is verified.

Pairing does not show

Refresh the extension and app, then create or show the pairing QR again.

Folders do not appear

Use Pull sync on the device that is missing changes.

Provider item cannot open

The provider for that item may not be configured locally on this device. Provider keys stay local, so each device needs its own setup.

Airlock looks out of date

Refresh TorBox. Airlock is TorBox state, not Magnetar Sync state.

Needs test

A configured provider or client has not passed its current test, or its settings changed after the last test. Run Test connection again.

Client list not loading

Check that the selected provider or client is configured, enabled, tested and reachable. Refresh again after a slow provider response or rate limit clears. Large TorBox and Real-Debrid libraries can load beyond 100 items, but very large accounts may still take longer.

Files do not appear until a folder expands

This is expected for providers that lazy-load files. The Client tab loads top-level folders first, then gathers files when you expand an item.

Rate limit or slow provider response

Wait briefly and retry. Some providers throttle requests or take longer to return library and file links.

Failed send remains in Review

Failed Review sends are kept so you can fix the client or provider issue and retry without rescanning.

Clear cache without deleting settings

Clear cache removes temporary client lists, provider responses, thumbnails, scan state and cached media files. It keeps credentials, Saved, History and settings.

Android Share shows an old link

Magnetar consumes handled share payloads after real send, save, discard or Send to Review actions so stale Android shares do not immediately rescan.

RDT Client browses the wrong place

When RDT Client is active, the Client tab should browse through the RDT Client API. A label such as RDT Client · TorBox means RDT Client is active with TorBox behind it.

Privacy

Privacy basics

  • No ads, analytics, telemetry or tracking.
  • Provider API keys and client passwords stay local.
